In a pulsating match Letchworth 1st XI came from 5-4 down to eventually emerge 6-5 victors.  They now need to win by two clear goals v Harleston Magpies 2nd XI away to finish 4th in the NE14 Premier B Division, which is an excellent achievement following two successive promotions.  Next season the 1st XI hope to further improve and gain promotion to Premier A.

The 2nd XI are comfortably mid-table in Div 3SW and now have just one league left v Southgate Adelaide on Sat 10 April, where their opposition must win to avoid relegation to Div 4 SW.

The 3rd XI bounced back from the disappointment of losing to fellow strugglers Broxbourne with a deserved win.  They now need to win final league game v Bishop’s Stortford M3 on Sat 27 March to avoid relegation to Div 5SW.

The 4th XI finished their season with a satisfying draw against Welwyn, coming from 1-0 down to go up 2-1 before having victory snatched away in the last few minutes.

Already assured of promotion, the 5th XI needed to win their last match of the season to win the Div 8SW title but went down to a late goal to finish runners-up.

The 6th XI were well beaten by the already champions of Div 9SW.

Ladies

Sevenoaks 2nd XI 3-1 Letchworth 1st XI
Letchworth 2nd XI 2-0 Bishop’s Stortford 2nd XI
Stevenage 2nd XI 3-1 Letchworth 3rd XI
St Albans 5th XI 1-0 Letchworth 4th XI

The Ladies 1st XI put in a brave performance against Div 1 South league champions Sevenoaks and must now win their last game away to Tunbridge Wells next week to avoid relegation to Div 2 South West.

The Ladies 2nd XI recorded a fine 2-0 win against Broxbourne in the 5 Counties Premier Division to remove any lingering relegation doubts in their last league match of the season.

The Ladies 3rd XI went down 3-1 to their local rivals and are relegated from Division 1 of the 5 Counties League.

The 4th XI travelled to face Division 5 Champions St Albans at Queenswood School on Saturday. In wet & dismal conditions they made a valiant effort to improve their lowly league position. The home side took the lead, from a short corner, 10 minutes into the game but with 14 year old goalkeeper Jo Alcock in superb form again & Letchworth defending bravely, St Albans were unable to increase their tally. Letchworth’s resistance deserved more reward but the few chances that came their way could not be converted. They now need to win their last two league matches, after Easter, if they are to avoid relegation.
